Product Review(s):
Pullen's gas station was located in North Tonawanda where Webster and Main Streets conjoin to form River Road. Reading the pumps in this photograph taken in the 1920's, tells one that the well-known brands of gasoline (Texaco Tydol and Socony) sold for 18 to 20 cents a gallon, "Socony Special" sold for 23 cents a gallon and was advertised on the pump as being "High Compression, Not Poisonous." Note the window boxes decorating the uniquely roofed building. The owner of the station, Mr. Robert Pullen, served three terms as Mayor of North Tonawanda in the late 1920's and early 1930's. The building at the right was the local train depot.

When this school was torn down because the dome was deemed unsafe, the demolition proved quite difficult because the dome proved nearly impossible to demolish. Sadly, however, this building which meant so much to so many was lost forever.
