Letters & Comments from Museum Visitors
From: Carol Bronnenkant, Graycliff Conservancy, Inc. - Derby, NY - January 30, 2006
As you know, the Museum coordinated Doors Open Niagara 2005 for the three Tonawandas. We received the following thank you note and wish to share it with all participating sites, because you did the work, and those who help support the historical & cultural tourism effort:
"Happy New Year! Preparations are well underway for Doors Open 2006. After serving as a U.S. volunteer representative to the Bi-National Steering Committee for the last three years, I am now turning my attention to other tourism projects. It was a pleasure to work with you during the Doors Open planning process and to be a small part of your efforts to highlight the historic treasures in your community. Wishing you continued success in all of your initiatives and every happiness in 2006!"
From: Joseph and Terry Sexton - Amherst, NY - December 17, 2005
My wife and I attended the Ethnic Christmas event this afternoon and we were quite impressed with Dr. Emelise Aleandri's presentation. Having heard of La Befana often from my mother, who hails from the Veneto region of Italy, it was especially enlightening and entertaining to be present for this presentation.
We look forward to the German event that was mentioned at this afternoon's gathering, since my wife is (partially) of Germanic extraction.
The progress that has been experienced so far by the North Tonawanda Historic Museum is nothing short of phenomenal. Being auslanders, we can only wish we could be native NT-ers; our only claim is that we are member of the OLC family, even though we live in Amherst and have come here only recently from the NYC metro area. We shall be following the Museum's progress assiduously, and we hope to participate to the greatest exent possible.
In boca lupo!
From: Margaret A. Waite - Library Director, North Tonawanda Public Library - August 2005
"Though I had tickets for the tour on the 31st, I had to go to a wedding in Vermont that weekend. I am sorry I missed all the festivities. My friends who did go thought the houses were beautiful and that the whole event was great. They said it was very organized and went smoothly. Congratulations on a successful event."

"Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed the North Tonawanda Historic Treasures Tour. First of all, it was very well planned. Your volunteers did an excellent job! Secondly, it was great to share information with the people we met along the way (saw lots of folks we haven't seen in awhile). And lastly, it was perfect weather for a stroll. I would certainly be interested in becoming involved with the next tour. Thanks again and keep up the good work."
Yours in history,
