North Tonawanda Public Library Exhibit - September 2006 Gallery

For the second year, September was the Museum's month to tell about the industrial heritage of North Tonawanda in the lobby of the North Tonawanda Public Library. The exhibit, created by Courtney Reichman, Administrative Assistant to the Director, who has been with the Museum since September 2005, drew praise from many visitors to the library who stopped by the Museum or phoned to thank us for the exhibit. Event Coordinator Danielle Oney and Collections & Education Coordinator Michael El-Sharif assisted in assembling the exhibit. Courtney is a graduate of SUNY at Brockport's Anthropology program and is now a Museum Studies student at Buffalo State College. Danielle is a nursing student at SUNY at Buffalo, and Michael is a graduate of Niagara University.

Part of the exhibit on our city's industrial past.

Many of the ads on display have been donated to the Museum by members who have been buying them on E-bay, mostly out of town former NT residents who have found a wonderful way to help the Museum by using the internet.

When we display photos, we usually get phone calls or visits from individuals who have identified some of the people in the photos.

Bison Shipyard, Richardson Boat, Durez, Taylor Devices, Remington Rand, VanRaalte, Wurlitzer, R. T. Jones Lumber, etc., etc.--what an industrial center we once were!.
