Getting 314 Oliver Street Ready to Move In - November 2004
The first home of the North Tonawanda History Museum, courtesy of North Tonawanda businessman David Zobrist. Opened initially to be just an office and storage space, it quickly turned into a small Museum, thanks to the hard work and much time of Museum volunteers and donors of items for the collections. From this humble beginning, we now, in April 2005, actually have hosted tours as well as numbers of individual visitors. People come from all over Western New York to visit our humble quarters and show their interest and support.
The Exhibit Hall -- in the beginning. It doesn't look like this anymore. Although we are crowded, we do have exhibits and we do tell visitors about our wonderful city's history.

Advisory Committee member Dan Bille in the front office in our first weeks. Dan is North Tonawanda City Historian and an Honorary Charter Life Member of the Museum. The organ at his left is from 1840, before Wurlitzer made them in North Tonawanda.
We were so happy to finally be able to have Board meetings and committee meetings in our own facilities. Until this became possible, all such meetings were held in facilities provided initially by Buffalo Suzuki Strings and, from May through November, in facilities provided by DeGraff Memorial Hospital, which continues to host our monthly public meetings and events in their Community Center on Division Street.
