North Tonawanda's Birthday Party - April 20, 2006 Gallery
The North Tonawanda History Museum celebrated its 2nd anniversary as a chartered Museum on Thursday, April 20, at the North Tonawanda Senior Center, and the 141st anniversary of North Tonawanda's incorporation as a Village. Celebrating with Museum representatives were Beverly Rasch and Arthur Pappas, members of the Board of Trustees of the Historical Society of the Tonawandas, Senator George D. Maziarz, and Alderman P. Russell Rizzo. Senator Maziarz was a member of the initial steering committee to establish the Museum. Mrs. Rasch and Mrs. Neal are schoolmates from Tonawanda High School.
"North Tonawanda's Birthday Party," the Museum's 3rd annual event, was held in the North Tonawanda Senior Center, at 110 Goundry Street.

Cakes courtesy of Frank Budwey and Budwey's Bakery. Budweys and the Budwey and Arnst family has been an important part of North Tonawanda's 20th century history. We are grateful for their enthusiastic support of our efforts as a new history museum to preserve and present the unique and wonderful history of North Tonawanda.

On April 20, 2004, after having had our petition for a provisional charter notarized by City Treasurer and Museum Advisory Committee member Leslie Stolzenfels in November 2003, then Museum President John Borycki and Museum Director Donna Zellner Neal attended ceremonies at the Theodore Roosevelt National Historic Site in Buffalo to hear the announcement by the Regents of the State University of New York of the approval of the provisional charter.

Happy Anniversary to everyone!.
|
At least we had a large enough table to hold them all! Museum volunteer Steve Ash didn't blink an eye when asked to go pick up ten cakes. He warned us, however, that if they didn't all fit in his car, he'd eat some!
