White Star Hotel

The White Star Hotel in the late 1930's, located at the northeast corner of Manhattan Street at Sweeney Street.  The hotel was owned by Phil Perew, a local inventor and entrepreneur.  The 3-story hotel was destroyed by fire in the late 1970's and a one-story structure was built to replace it, which now houses Alexander's Lounge.
