Webster Street Gallery

West side of Webster Street between Sweeney Street and Tremont Street; on the left, built in 1859, is half of the present 20-26 Webster Street building. In 1877 the building at the right was replaced by the structure existing today which became known as the Kent Music Hall building, owned by Alexander G. Kent, lumberman, of Kent & Reisterer Lumber Co. In the spring of 1897, Frank X. Batt opened an extensive hardware store here, which he operated until selling it five years later to the Knapp-Cramer Company, which later became Cramer Industrial Supplies.
