North Tonawanda Post Office

North Tonawanda Post Office – 141 Goundry Street

The North Tonawanda Post Office was originally located in a triangular building at the corner of

Main, Webster and Goundry Streets, known as the Post Office Arcade.  It housed the Post Office, a newsstand and cigar store run by a Mr. Sayler, and the office of the Tonawanda News.  W. G. Palmer was the prime mover in obtaining a new Post Office during Woodrow Wilson’s term in office.  This was built on the William L. Alt property at 141 Goundry in 1912.
