McLean Brothers Wholesale Lumber

The McLean Brothers Wholesale Lumber yards were located on along the River from around the turn of the 20th century until the beginning of World War I, when it was closed.  This was the peak of the lumber business in North Tonawanda, with most of the lumber coming from Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.  Donald S. McLean was President until his premature death in 1905.  His two brothers, Hugh McLean, Jr., (of 445 Goundry Street) and John N. McLean, were also principals in the company.
