Top photo: McLean Chevrolet Service Station began at the corner of Main Street at Goundry, on the site of the Hotel Sheldon. It opened in 1922. Note the 1922 Chevies. Hugh A. McLean (1890-1982) was the owner. He was the only surviving son of Donald S. and Elizabeth D. McLean of 338 Goundry Street.
Later they established a second location, as shown in the lower photo, to Main and Tremont, north of the Elks Club building, at 27-29 Main Street. This photo was taken in July 1951, two years before Hugh McLean sold the business in 1953.
Note the Remington Rand plant in the background behind the car dealership building.
