Little Store
In 1967 a small, corner store opened at the intersection of 14th Avenue and Gilmore. Known as the "Little Store," this was owned by a brother-sister team, Joseph Moskal, Jr., and Louise Moskal Litwin. It was one of the last owner-operated stores in the neighborhood. The sign advertising pop reads "$1.19 a case." A "Paul Rumbold for Mayor" sign on the front of the building was printed by Paul Hoover in his original printing business, now known as Pioneer Printers. This site was also the original location of Szymanski's market, later located on Olver Street, near Wheatfield, and known as Chester's Meat Market. |
