Lynn Grinnell
Lynn Grinnell, on the ground at right, served in World War II. His discharge papers and medals have been donated to the North Tonawanda History Museum by his son, Dennis, and are part of our growing military heritage collections. Dennis is a former North Tonawanda policeman and instructor of Security and Law Enforcement program at Orleans-Niagara BOCES. Dennis is also active in the NT Football Hall of Fame. Lynn Grinnell died in 1998. The photo was taken in Italy when Lynn served in the Army in France, Italy, and North Africa during World War II. Lynn worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport and then for National Grinding Wheel in North Tonawanda, where he was foreman of the maintenance shop, retiring in 1980. Also donated by Dennis is a bill from Conrad Kania in 1949 for repairs he performed for Lynn, the original mortgage papers for 1290 Nash Road in 1953 for $179, and a 1937 bill from DeGraff Memorial Hospital for surgery.
