Collections - New Additions to Actual Museum

A beanie from Gratwick School which was worn by the donor 50 years ago in 1955 joins our collection of school-related items.

A 1977 anniversary plate from Ascension Church, the oldest Catholic Church in North Tonawanda, joins our growing collection of church memorabilia.

Allen C. Gademsky autographs a copy of his book, "The Bison Shipyard Story," while Museum Director Donna Zellner Neal, North Tonawanda City Historian Dan Bille, and Museum Trustee Paula Belair watch.  Mr. Gademsky presented the Museum and the CIty Historian with autographed copies and also donated ten copies of the book to the Museum to sell as a fundraiser.

A tuning jack used to tune the Wurlitzer organs is in the foreground. It was donated to the Museum by Dominic DeMart. Dominic may be seen in uniform during World War II under the Military Heritage section of the website, in the Wurlitzer -World War II section.

In the photo below, Dominic DeMart, at left, is trained to use the tuning jack in 1947 by John Srackta.

The North Tonawanda History Museum has accepted the donation of an accordion manufactured by the Wurlitzer Company in the 1950’s for its industrial heritage collection.  The accordion was donated by North Tonawanda resident, John Pignatora.
