338 Sweeney Street

338 Sweeney Street was the home of J. Chadwick on 1875 maps. John Chadwick owned a large area known as "the Chadwick farm" and is said to have given Hannah Johnson, known as "Black Hannah" a cabin in the woods on his farm in which to live.

The present occupant of the home has lived here since 1924.

An 1800's storage barn is in the rear and the upstairs still has working electrical wiring from the early 1900's.

Leonard Reigle, owner of the home after John Chadwick and before the Sitzlow family. The Sitzlows' son-in-law Carl Miller donated hundreds of wonderful items to the Museum's collections.
