16 Ward Road 1860s Farmhouse Still Standing in NT
The house at 16 Ward Road is said to date back to the 1850s when it was constructed on a 65 acre farm owned by Jacob Kholer or Kohler. The home remained in the Kohler family until at least the 1930s, but old directories indicate that John Kohler, whose occupation was that of a farmer, lived there from 1892 through 1942, with Oscar H. Kohler, a laborer, also living there or at least connected to the house from 1938 through 1980. In 1981, it became vacant, but a series of residents occupied it into the early 21 st century. It presently has a new owner.
